This is also known as the “flag place” and many people visit it due to its palatial status. It is one of six ceremonial residencies of the rulers and is home to His Majesty the Sultan. As a tourist, you are allowed to visit the grounds and not the palace itself, so you can stroll around and take a few photos.
How about a stroll on the beach?
Muscat boasts of many sandy, breathtaking beaches where tourists can walk or lounge on. The Shatti Al Quram is the most famous in Muscat and is located in the northern coast near the diplomatic district. Another famous beach is the Sifah Beach which is picturesque due to its white sand and the numerous camps that take place on it. Since shisha is legal, you can enjoy a smoke on the beach at one of the many cafes as you enjoy the sunset.
Oman is a beautiful and majestic country and while some of the things look alluring just from photos and descriptions, visiting it is the best way to experience its glory, sites, cultures and people.
